Sewing & Sexism: A Discussion of the Guerrilla Girls
On April 9, 2021, Code Red held its first virtual event via Zoom. Participants were taught how to sew reusable pads to be given to The Pad Project. The keynote presentation was on the topic of the infamous Guerrilla Girls, an anonymous group of women dedicated to fighting sexism in the art world. This was then followed by a discussion of female artists and sexism in the art industry as a whole, in which viewers were encouraged to participate. The event raised over $400.
